Let me go back a couple of bands before I talk about Funkee Clawed. Any further than that and my memory starts fading, fast. I can blame the occassional herbal ciggie for that. Purely medicinal you understand.

I'll start with 'Travelling Fair', a five piece folk band. Well, I say folk but that all changed when mu good friend Scot Phillips joined as the bass player. From then on it was folk/rock, with the emphasis on Rock. Enough said.

Then came PLUG, a 6 piece Ska/Rock band with Dave Tigg, the sound man, as the official 7th member.

What can I say about them? All I can say is you had to be slightly unhinged to play. Well, it helped!

Now to Funkee Clawed....a Rock/Blues band. If you ask my fellow band members they will agree that I'm the one who is forever reminding them when and where our next rehearsal will be. As for gigs, you'd think one of them would take the time to at least remember the damn set list. As soon as they do, can they let me know. It has been known for the old Jamaican Old Holburn to rear it's ugly head from time to time. I do apologise...

As for the band, I'd like to take this opportunity to say one thing to Mark and that is....there's only room for one band my friend. Oh and by the way, I think I spotted another dent in The Dodgem last week. I forgot to tell you...God!, my memory, what am I like?

Jokes aside, it has to be said Mark can play one hell of a twisted piece of wood.

Mick is the most relaxed bass player I know, so much so, occasionally when playing a gig I get the urge to lob a bit of hickory his way to wake him.

As for Nigel, our lead singer. He can certainly nail the job as front man. His range gives us far more room to make songs our own.

I'm seen as the outspoken one of the band, so to sum up Funkee Clawed, we F&*$*%g ROCK!

p.s. Don't book any gigs through me, I'll forget. Mark's your man.
